JBLM Youth Sports & Fitness offers Youth Sports & Fitness activities, recreational leagues, and specific programs such as Dance, Camps, Gymnastics, Karate, Baseball, Fall Flag Football, Cheerleading, Fall Soccer, and Lil Dribblers. The program also includes participation connected with Special Olympics Washington (SOWA).

• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with DONSA hours 7:00am–4:00pm
• Price: Enrollment fees vary depending on each sports program.

The Youth Sports & Fitness Program hosts recreational leagues that are inclusive of all youth who want to learn the fundamentals of the game and to have fun. The sports program focuses on leadership, sportsmanship and teamwork, programs based on the well-being of children and youth, skill building and increased self-esteem and self-confidence, and reducing the likelihood of situations and behaviors that put children and youth at risk, including providing a drug, tobacco and alcohol-free environment at all child and youth sports activities.

Coaches are trained and certified through the National Association of Youth Sports, a volunteer coach training program that is designed to sensitize volunteer coaches to their responsibilities and hold them accountable to a strict code of ethics and conduct. All coaches have background clearance checks and are screened through the Army Central Registry, MPs, CID and Alcohol and Drug Prevention programs for any reported misconduct involving children. Coach training includes the psychological and emotional needs of youth, safety and first aid, conditioning and nutrition, teaching proper sports techniques and drug awareness. Coaches are trained and certified through the National Association of Youth Sports.

The program notes Special Olympics Washington (SOWA) athlete registration, a SOWA unified partner form with the Communicable Disease Waiver, and a coaches for Special Olympics requirements form with links. Mandatory skills assessments are conducted for all sports, and all youth athletes must have a copy of a current health assessment or sports physical on the first day of practice that is valid through the entire season. Participation in Youth Sports requires registration with CYS, and the program provides a drug, tobacco and alcohol-free environment at all child and youth sports activities. Volunteer coaches are always welcome for all sports programs.
